Statement

Date: Jan. 15, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr., (R-South Louisiana), today announced his office is accepting applications for summer internships in his Washington, D.C. office:

"Internships are an excellent opportunity for young adults to learn about our state, our country, and the political process," Boustany said. "Students will experience working in Washington while being exposed to issues and concerns people most deeply care about in South Louisiana. Many of Louisiana's best and brightest have worked in our office on Capitol Hill, and I greatly appreciate their efforts."

The internships are available in Boustany's Washington office. Preference for these internships will be given to college seniors and recent graduates. Interns perform a variety of tasks including legislative research, attending Congressional hearings, assisting with press communications, and interacting with constituents. There are two summer sessions for the internships and each session is about 5 weeks long.

Interested students and recent graduates should submit a cover letter explaining their interest and a resume before February 15, 2013 to Jeff Dobrozsi at jeff.dobrozsi@mail.house.gov with the subject "DC intern."

Questions should be directed to the Washington, D.C. office at (202) 225-2031.
