House Passes Bill to Require a Definitive Plan as President Misses Budget DeadlineWASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, today issued the following remarks after he voted in support of H.R. 444, The "Require a PLAN Act," which requires the White House to either produce a balanced budget within a 10-year period or provide a supplemental budget plan by April 1, 2013, that designates the fiscal year their plan would achieve balance:

"This week's inaction by the president was another budget deadline ignored and another giant letdown to the American people. The situation we find ourselves in today is difficult, and it is with urgency that the federal government must establish a financial blueprint that removes our nation from the brink of default and restores financial sanity. House Republicans have done this basic duty. It is time for the Senate and the president to step up and do theirs."
