Stutzman Nominates Young Hoosiers to Military Service Academies

U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman nominated eleven outstanding students from Northeast Indiana to three of the U.S. Service Academies, the Military Academy at West Point, Naval Academy at Annapolis, and the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado.

"I am proud to nominate each of these outstanding Hoosier students," said Stutzman. "The defense of our country's freedom is entrusted to men and women of the highest caliber. These young Hoosiers worked hard for an opportunity to attend these rigorous academies and I congratulate them on all their hard work."

The service academies will make their final appointment decisions. The following students received nominations:

Sarah Claudy -- Angola, Angola High School; nominated to U.S. Naval Academy

Cameron Dark- Fort Wayne, Homestead high school; U.S. Military Academy at West Point

Abigail Darner -- Zanesville, Antilles High School at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico; U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Air Force Academy

Erin Garrison -- Fort Wayne, Concordia Lutheran; U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy

Cameron Georgi - Fort Wayne, Homestead High School; U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy

Erika Goshorn -- Warsaw, Air Force Prep School; U.S. Air Force Academy

Chandler Nan -- Auburn, DeKalb High School; U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy

Thomas Newlin- Fort Wayne, Canterbury High School; U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy

Collin Parker - Warsaw, Culver Military Academy; U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy

Benjamin Tackett - Kendallville, East Noble High School; U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy
