While serving on the Kalamazoo City Commission, I served on the city's Economic Development Corporation, the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, and the advisory board for Discover Kalamazoo. As a representative, I have applied the example set by Kalamazoo to the whole of Michigan.

Taking advantage of Michigan's strong manufacturing heritage by re-training workers to build our new economy. This will help further reduce our reliance on any one industry for the future and strengthen our appeal to employers.
