Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) released the following statement after being re-appointed to the House Energy and Commerce Committee for the 113th Congress and tapped to serve on the subcommittees of Energy and Power; Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade; and Communications and Technology:
"The district I serve is one of the most energy intensive districts in the country. It is home to four nuclear power plants, miles of windmills, hydropower plants, and ethanol and biodiesel plants. Our nuclear energy production alone employs more than 2,500 people. In addition, coal and natural gas energy are also vital resources in the district.
"I'm honored to continue serving on the Energy and Commerce Committee under Chairman Fred Upton's leadership and look forward to working with Energy and Power Subcommittee Chairman Ed Whitfield to tackle new challenges and make our nation energy secure."
