U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross (FL-12) voted against the Senate amendment to H.R. 8, the American Taxpayer Relief Act. His statement follows:
"Our country is going bankrupt. We are $16 trillion in debt, all of which is saddled to our children and grandchildren.
"This proposal does nothing to address our biggest problem, which is the out-of-control spending that runs rampant in Washington.
"I am hopeful that in the coming months of the 113th Congress, we can do what is right by Floridians and reform both our tax code and the way that Washington spends the hard-earned money of Florida taxpayers."
