Rep. Ron DeSantis today made the following statement regarding today's jobs report:
"Today we learned that the nation's unemployment rate ticked upward to 7.9 percent with a meager 157,000 jobs added for the month of January, 2013, less than economists predicted.
"President Obama barely mentioned the economy and our nation's fiscal situation in his Second Inaugural Address, and he seems to be intent on enacting a left-of-center ideological agenda instead of pursuing policies that will lead to more economic growth. We cannot accept 7.9 percent unemployment as the new normal. Embracing fiscal responsibility, bureaucratic accountability and pro-growth policies is essential to returning to full employment. Congress needs to clear the way for job creation and private investment."
