Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) joined with Republicans to support the "Require a Plan Act" requiring President Obama to submit a plan to balance the budget. With the support of only a handful of Democrats, the "Require a Plan Act" passed the House by a vote of 253-167.

"When I was working in the Clinton White House, we didn't just talk about balancing the budget, we did it -- and we did it the right way by growing the middle class and creating jobs," said Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney. "We can do it again, but Republicans and Democrats have to get serious and put a plan in place to balance our budget long-term."

Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney previously crossed party lines to support "No Budget, No Pay" which ensures our country avoids defaulting on our debt and would withhold congressional pay until a comprehensive budget is passed by Congress.
