Congressman Jeff Fortenberry made the following statement after Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman approved the TransCanada Keystone XL Pipeline route based on a final environmental evaluation.
"Like many Nebraskans, I had serious concerns about the pipeline's original route through the Sand Hills. A new route was proposed to address those concerns, and a comprehensive environmental review was completed by the State of Nebraska. Governor Heineman's approval of the new route is another step forward in achieving a strategic energy partnership with Canada that respects our natural resources and protects unique ecosystems."
