U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement today following President Barack Obama's immigration speech:
"As I've long-said, we must address three critical issues when it comes to our nation's immigration policies: securing our borders, fulfilling our legitimate workforce needs, and determining how we deal with people who overstay. Dealing with the second two challenges is much easier if we've confronted the first concern. As we work to address both the skill-needs and part-time needs in our labor force, we must ensure that we secure both our physical borders as well as the border at the hiring desk. This is a critical issue for America, and I'm pleased that this important conversation has been renewed."
