McCarthy Statement on January Jobs Report

House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement regarding this morning's employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

"This morning's jobs report shows that the President's policies are failing to get the millions of unemployed Americans back to work. While the Administration feels the services of its own nonpartisan Council on Jobs and Competitiveness are no longer needed, families across the country are living paycheck to paycheck with decreasing confidence in the year to come. The lack of focus from this Administration on reversing the slowest economic recovery in modern times and helping Americans back on their feet is unacceptable. While the White House and Senate Democrats continue to play politics, the House is focused on bringing forth solutions to the fiscal and economic challenges facing Americans of all walks of life. In the weeks and months ahead, the President and Senate Democrats must decide whether they will continue to do nothing or whether they will join us in doing what's best for our country."
