Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement from her office in Washington this afternoon:
"This morning we received further confirmation that the Obama economy is floundering. The report showed that the unemployment rate has risen to 7.9 percent. This follows this week's news that our nation's gross domestic product plummeted at a rate of 0.1 percent in the last quarter - its first decline since the 2007-09 recession."
"American families are struggling to manage their budgets and provide for their children. But once again we are faced with more of the same - four years with an unemployment rate near 8 percent and four years since the Senate passed a budget. The president's policies are failing and American workers are left to wonder how much worse can it get."
