Daines' Response to President Obama's Proposal on New Firearm Restrictions

Location: Washington, DC

Montana Congressman Steve Daines today responded to President Barack Obama's proposal regarding new restrictions on Americans' right to keep and bear arms:

"I am committed to protecting and defending Montanans' Second Amendment rights, and will stand firm against efforts to infringe upon those rights. I have serious concerns that the President's plan infringes upon the constitutional rights of the thousands of Montanans who safely and lawfully exercise their Second Amendment rights every day."

Daines noted that in the two weeks since he was sworn in as Montana's Congressman, hundreds of Montanans have reached out to his office to ask that Congress put a stop to efforts that seek to limit Americans' right to keep and bear arms.
