What to expect

Statement

Date: Jan. 4, 2013

Hello--

Yesterday, I took the Oath of Office to serve my third, two-year House term when new and returning members were officially sworn in for the 113th Congress.

Sidney and I are so humbled by the trust that our friends and neighbors have placed in our family to represent their conservative values.

For the 113th Congress, I will remain on the influential House Committee on Energy and Commerce. I will also return to the select Committee on House Administration. As a member of these committees, my focus will be advocating for American-made energy and working with families raising special needs children.

But my number one priority as your representative will be reining in the out-of-control debt and modernizing entitlement programs to better reflect our aging population, while protecting the solvency of these health and retirement programs that benefit seniors and are critical for lower-income families.

Right now, it is critical that we keep folks informed about the important issues facing Mississippi and our country. Will you help me spread the word by forwarding this message to five friends?

God bless,
