Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) crossed party lines to support "No Budget, No Pay" which passed the House by a vote of 285-144. This legislation ensures our country avoids defaulting on our debt and would withhold congressional pay until a comprehensive budget is passed by Congress.
"No Budget, No Pay is a common-sense idea: Members of Congress do not get paid until they do their job and pass a budget. Congress should live by the same rules folks across the Hudson Valley live by: if you don't do your job, you don't get paid," said Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney. "Whether it's a Republican or Democratic idea, I am committed to working across the aisle to find common ground on the important issues facing families and businesses in the Hudson Valley."
