Statement on Co-Sponsorship of Violence Against Women Act

Location: Washington, DC

Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz, released the following statement on her co-sponsorship of the Violence Against Women Act:

"I urge my colleagues in both chambers to come together on the swift passage of the Violence Against Women Act," said Sinema. "The guarantee of basic protections for every woman in this country is not ideological; it is not partisan. It is fundamentally American. Congress can and must do right by our daughters, sisters, mothers and neighbors -- and put politics aside to protect all women who are victims of domestic violence and abuse. It's simply the right thing to do."
