House Republican Policy Committee Chairman James Lankford (R-OK) is honored to announce that he will deliver the Republican Weekly Address tomorrow, January 19, 2013.

"I am humbled by the opportunity to deliver this week's remarks to the nation on behalf of congressional Republicans," said Lankford. "With the President's inauguration this weekend and the recent swearing-in of the 113th Congress, our nation has the opportunity for a fresh start to tackle the many problems we face.

"I hope you will join me in praying for President Obama and his family as he embarks on his second term as President of the United States. The issues we face in the coming weeks and months will be difficult, but we must resolve them in the long-term, best interest of all American families.

"The fact is, our nation has never added so much debt in such a short period of time. The spiraling federal debt requires all of Washington to work together toward a budget plan that puts our nation and our families on a path to solvency. The American people understand the economic reality; federal overspending that was intended to lift us up as a nation is actually dragging our families down.

"Certainly, on the weekend we commemorate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we must renew the dream for our children's future. As we tackle our nation's enormous debt, halt our out-of-control deficit spending, and address the cultural shifts in our country's character, let us pursue a better legacy for the next generation," concluded Lankford.
