Location: Unknown

At the request of Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy and in remembrance of those lost in the shooting in Newtown, Conn., Kansas Governor Sam Brownback urges all Kansans to observe a moment of silence on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. local time.

"On behalf of Lt. Governor Jeff Colyer, and the people of the state of Kansas I would like to send my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the victims of this senseless crime," said Governor Brownback. "I would also like to thank the first responders for their dedication to protecting those in need. Our hearts and prayers are with everyone in Newtown."
