Issue Position

The Legislature needs a whole new approach to transparency. Last year, the Legislature refused to release the budgets of individual legislators, causing public outrage, and the budgets were only made public as a result of a court order. The Legislature also suspended certain local government open meeting laws, in an ill-conceived attempt to save money. Marc would take major steps to reverse these misguided policies and increase transparency: requiring that Legislator's calendars be made publicly available and taking steps to make more state government information available online for easy public viewing.
