The debate over how to deal with our porous borders continues to threaten the stability of our state. We must first secure our borders now. We cannot afford another amnesty. The underground economy hurts our existing workforce, drives down wages, strains our social services and education system. Illegal drug trafficking threatens our safety. If the Federal Government refuses to act California must implement a California plan that considers the vastness of our state, and the regional needs we have. Once border security is implemented, we can begin to deal with those may already be in California illegally.
If we need more permanent or temporary working visas, we should address that issue.
If we need to increase quotas for legal immigration, we should do so.
If we need to allow employer sponsorships in the interim for workforce needs, ensuring those sponsored will not be impacting social services, this should be considered.
