The trigger cuts to education that have been passed down in the latest state budget are devastating to schools and completely unnecessary. Students are being held hostage in order for the Governor to leverage votes in November for his unpopular and unneeded tax increase that doesn't provide any increased funding for schools. I support alternative approaches to solve the budget gap without reducing spending for education. Our young people should be our top priority, not a pawn in the game of politics.
