I am honored to have served on the Thomas County school board for 14 years and in the State House for 6 years.
During my years of public service, education and work force development have been my constant focus. If we are to lead the nation again in high tech jobs, agriculture advancement and manufacturing, we must have a workforce that is ready to fill these jobs.
I firmly believe that decisions regarding education are best made at the local level with parents, teachers and school administrators working together to best serve our students. A challenging educational system that gives every child a chance to succeed will include a mix of quality public schools, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
