Friday, an unspeakable tragedy hit the small, all-American community of Newtown, Connecticut. We were reminded that evil knows no boundaries and left Americans all across our country in shock, disbelief, fear, anger, and sorrow. Friday was also a day that heroes were born and a nation reunited. We may never know the answer to the question "why", but what we do know is through God's grace and our strength as a nation, we cannot, nor will we bow down to evil. Let us remember the scripture in Romans 12:21--"Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." May God's blessings be shed on the students, parents, families, faculty, and staff of Sandy Hook Elementary whose lives have forever been changed, and let us all remain united in prayer and grow stronger in faith and love.
