Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) made a speech on the floor of the House urging Republican House Leadership to promptly allow a vote to cut taxes for the middle class and to extend the Wind Energy Production Tax Credit.

Last week, Perlmutter signed a petition asking Republican Leadership to bring a Senate-passed plan to lower taxes for every American on the first $250,000 of income as well as fix the Alternative Minimum Tax and extend the child tax credit. Thus far, House Republican Leadership refuses to allow a vote on the tax cut plan which has bipartisan support and the President said he will sign.

Additionally, Perlmutter continues to fight for an extension of the wind energy Production Tax Credit (PTC) which will save thousands of private sector jobs here in Colorado and across the nation.

"We can't wait to pass these measures. Americans need certainty their taxes won't go up next year and our wind industry small businesses need certainty to invest for the future. These measures have bipartisan support and the President will sign them. Let's work together and get these done," said Perlmutter.
