Heller Responds to National Unemployment Figures

Statement

U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) issued the following statement regarding the national unemployment figures released earlier today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

"I'm pleased to see our nation's unemployment rate at lower than expected levels and hope this continues in the future. In order for that to happen, Democrats and Republicans need to push partisanship aside and come together to address the impending fiscal cliff. The unemployment rate in Nevada is still far too high, and this uncertainty is crippling job creation at a time when far too many Americans are out of work, underemployed, or have simply given up looking. I have spoken with job creators across Nevada concerned about the effects of this fiscal cliff on their employees, which is why I have urged both Republicans and Democrats to come together to address the severe spending cuts and looming tax increases. The only way to build a better, stronger future is by working together to get our nation and Nevada moving in the right direction," said Senator Dean Heller.
