During a tough economic climate, small businesses face many challenges in order to grow and create jobs. One of those challenges is the 2010 health care law and its many mandates, regulatory hurdles, and burdensome requirements. The House Small Business Committee has produced a resource to help raise awareness about the law's regulations and requirements for small businesses. These charts outline select Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act provisions that will become effective in 2013 and 2014, and the consequences for small businesses.
"The health care law has been a drain on private sector job creation, but our Committee will strive to help America's small businesses overcome their compliance difficulties," said House Small Business Committee Chairman Graves (R-MO). "Health care costs have always been a great concern for most small firms; the health care law only adds to that challenge. We have consistently heard that businesses are confused and concerned about implementation. I want to help them be successful, no matter what the national regulatory climate is. With this report, we are trying to give them some tools to plan ahead."
