U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow issued the following statement today regarding the introduction of right-to-work legislation in the Michigan Legislature:
"Michigan has a proud history of labor and business working together to create jobs and provide a better standard of living for middle-class families. I strongly oppose this partisan push to pass 'right-to-work' legislation. Workers need to have confidence that they have a voice in the workplace, and this proposal silences that voice. I am deeply concerned about the impact of this incredibly divisive action on our state's economy at a time when we need everyone working together to solve problems and move our state forward. This is a sad moment in Michigan's history and a serious step backward for our state."
