Senator Blunt's Statement On Fiscal Cliff

Statement

Date: Nov. 9, 2012
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Taxes

U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) issued the following statement today regarding the looming fiscal cliff. Blunt is a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee:

"We can find a responsible path forward to avert the fiscal cliff and increase revenues without raising taxes for Americans who are looking for more economic certainty -- not less. Now is the time for President Obama to lead and propose a realistic and specific plan to avoid sending us into another devastating recession. We need to grow our economy, rein in federal spending, and enact fundamental tax and entitlement reform if we're going to start putting people back to work and pay down our record debt -- not levy tax hikes on American families and job creators."
