Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement on President Obama's decision to back his small business tax credit proposal that would give small businesses a tax credit when they hire or increase wages. Senator Casey first introduced his plan in 2010.

"I'm pleased the Administration announced today that it supports legislation to provide tax credits to small businesses that add jobs or increase wages. This is a commonsense approach to create jobs which I have advocated for a long time. In 2010 and 2011, I proposed a tax credit for small businesses that hire workers or increase wages because it's a proven, effective strategy to create good paying jobs and boost growth. Even as the economy recovers, Pennsylvania's middle class families and small businesses are still struggling. Passing this tax credit will help create jobs and boost economic growth across the Commonwealth, and I'm hopeful that Democrats and Republicans will come together to pass it quickly.
