This evening the House reconvenes after seven weeks of recess. One of the top priorities before the holiday season will be voting on the Fiscal Cliff which includes the expiration of Bush tax cuts, expiration of various Recovery Act tax provisions, expiration of unemployment insurance; expiration of payroll tax cut and spending cuts. By midnight December 31st the House has to find common ground and make a decision or we will also see devastating cuts to Louisiana's Health and Human Services and Education Dept funding. These programs are VITAL to communities throughout the state. I promise to keep you informed on our progress from our Nation's Capitol.
