Throughout Pennsylvania's history we have seen instances where the Auditor General's office has been filled with politicians who had no background in auditing.
It is time for that to end.
As a CPA who built a successful, job creating business right here in Pennsylvania auditing governments and organizations, I will use the Auditor General's office for what it was intended: to audit government agencies and ensure that funds are properly spent.
Waste, fraud and corruption should be a thing of the past in Pennsylvania and I will work to make that happen using the tools of the Auditor General. As a successful businessman, I know how to manage budgets and offices. Efficiency and effectiveness will be the goal in the Auditor General's office.
I am licensed to audit. I am a Certified Public Accountant. I have used that knowledge in public service fighting for Pennsylvania taxpayers. As a citizen Legislator, I ran on a platform of accountability for government. I have worked to put that platform into action. As a result I have been re-elected time and time again.
I wrote the open records law. I wrote the law putting controls on lobbyists. I worked to ensure that there are criminal penalties for those who would deceive auditors.
Public service is just that, service to the public. I look forward to putting the Auditor General's office to work for you -- not the politicians.
To grow our economy, create jobs and ensure Pennsylvania will be a better place for the next generation we must have confidence our government will create a level playing field for everyone, and not just benefit those in power.
That is my job. That is my mission as your next Auditor General.
