Issue Position: Josh on Jobs and the Economy

Issue Position

Date: Oct. 29, 2012

I am committed to putting people back to work. The way to do that is by creating an economic climate that favors production -- because production requires a workforce. New Hampshire has a workforce pool of uniquely and highly qualified individuals that are ready and willing to get back to work.

I believe that a strong New Hampshire economy is a required first step. That is accomplished by attracting innovation and production to this state. In order to achieve that, we must nurture an environment that promotes business, enterprise, and entrepreneurship. We need for business innovators and entrepreneurs to consider New Hampshire to be a state that is not only conducive to successful business, but also one that encourages, promotes, and incentivizes successful business.

In order to restore our economy we need to restore our production and manufacturing base. New Hampshire must become a center of production and export -- not a place for consumption and import.

To those ends, I will always promote:

* Free market entrepreneurship
* Cutting or eliminating all taxes that inhibit or burden the prosperity of enterprise such as Interest & Dividends tax and Business Enterprise/Business Profits Tax (BET/BPT)
* Private-sector job-creation
* Reducing and removing cumbersome governmental involvement in private enterprise
* Cutting the size of the government by considering programs and agencies that are either irresponsible, wasteful, or burdensome to economic growth
