"I applaud the decision made by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals today, which ruled that DOMA is unconstitutional. The court confirmed what I and many others have long argued: all Americans deserve equal treatment under the law, and DOMA prevents that from happening. I have always been a supporter of marriage equality, and I am pleased that the court held that same-sex couples deserve constitutional protection.
Today's victory moves us closer to elimination of DOMA and its discrimination against same-sex relationships. As the legal and legislative challenges continue, we must fight each and every day in the ongoing struggle for equal rights."
