Ros-Lehtinen Statement on Cuban Regime's Announcement on New Travel Requirements

"The human rights abuses in Cuba are so common and perverse that some folks see this announcement as a major concession from the ruling gerontocracy. What the Cuban people really desire is to have freedom of assembly, freedom of speech without fear of long jail terms and wanton harassment and freedom to elect their leaders in fair and transparent elections.

"These so called reforms are nothing more than Raul Castro's desperate attempts to fool the world into thinking that Cuba is changing, but anyone who knows anything about the communist 53 year old Castro dictatorship knows that Cuba will only be free when the Castro family and its lackeys are no longer on the scene."
