Issue Position

Increasing funding and quality of education must become a greater priority in our state. For too long we have failed to fully understand the tie between economic growth and prosperity and the role of secondary and higher education. I fully support a dramatic increase in funding for secondary and higher education--but only if tied to fundamental educational reforms, including changes to tenure and competition, that will better prepare students for global competition in this new century.
