Kohl, Baldwin Announce $200,000 for City of Madison Community Development Authority's Triangle Project

KOHL, BALDWIN ANNOUNCE $200,000 FOR CITY OF MADISON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY'S TRIANGLE PROJECT

Funding will help CDA improve health facilities for disabled

WASHINGTON-U.S. Senator Herb Kohl and Rep. Tammy Baldwin announced today that they secured $200,000 for the City of Madison Community Development Authority's Triangle Project to construct new and improved facilities for its disabled residents. The funding is included in the fiscal year 2005 omnibus budget, which Congress approved this weekend. Kohl is a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and its Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and had identified the project as a priority for funding. Baldwin fought for the funding in the House of Representatives.

"The Community Development Authority has done great work providing safe and affordable housing for disabled individuals in Madison. This funding will help the Authority improve its facilities and ultimately provide better care for its disabled residents. This is an important use of federal resources," Kohl said.

"I am pleased that Senator Kohl and I were successful in securing funds for this project. I applaud the City for its work to improve services for the residents of the Triangle Project area. It is my hope that the new medical clinic space will greatly improve the quality of life for residents," said Baldwin.
