PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION & BRIDGES
We need to reevaluate transportation funding inRhode Island, and we need to be at the table when localAquidneck Islanddecisions are made, specifically on the tolls proposed for theSakonnetBridge.
Where were our local representatives on this issue a year ago? We need to make sure the study being done by the Bridge and Toll Authority is going to include local representation, and we need to look at how we develop more uniform and equitable policies regarding the distribution of state financial transportation costs imposed on us.
I support Grow Smart RI, which advocates for sustainable economic growth that builds upon and strengthensRhode Island's exceptional quality of place. Some of their initiatives include: walk able town and urban centers, affordable housing options, expanded transportation choices, a vital agricultural sector and responsible stewardship of our natural resources.
