As a State Representative for District 12 I believe my biggest challenge would be help develop solutions for our current health care and education systems. There is no doubt that many health care options are simply unavailable for a variety of reasons. Also when available they are often inaccessible to those who make too little money to afford health insurance and too much money to qualify for government programs.
Our public schools also suffer from being under resourced and an overall lack of accountability for students, parents, teachers and administrators.
I think the biggest opportunity facing this office is to work as a liaison between area business and civic leaders and Little Rock to attract new businesses from outside the region, develop new business from within the region and enhance our overall economic development.I especially think we have a unique opportunity during the 150th anniversary of the Civil War to foster with state support Historic Tourism to our area.
