I oppose illegal immigration. People who obey the laws and play by the rules are the strength of our nation.

According to FAIR (Federation for American Immigration Reform), Florida's illegal immigrant population cost Florida taxpayers more than $3.8 billion per year for K-12 education, medical care and the incarceration of illegal aliens who have committed other crimes in Florida.

Furthermore, mentally ill U.S. citizens in Florida are being placed on waiting lists for treatment because public facilities are overcrowded with illegal aliens. State officials can't even turn the illegal immigrants over to federal authorities, because doing so would violate the privacy of the illegal alien under patient confidentiality laws.

This is neither right nor sustainable. Taxpayers can't afford to continue paying for those who are here illegally.
