CHAMBLISS, MILLER ANNOUNCE ENERGY AND WATER FUNDS FOR GEORGIA
WASHINGTON - U.S. Senators Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., and Zell Miller, D-Ga., today announced that several Georgia energy and water projects have been included in the Fiscal Year 2005 Omnibus Appropriations bill.
"Maintaining dams, lakes, waterways and our harbors makes a down payment on Georgia's future," Chambliss said. "I am pleased to have secured these important funds, which makes a great investment in our water resources for future generations."
"From shore protection to waterway navigation, this funding recognizes the importance of the Army Corps of Engineer projects to our nation and especially to Georgia, " Miller said. "I am especially pleased that this bill funds the bio-refinery project at the University of Georgia because this research is going to prove invaluable to our nation's efforts to find alternative energy sources."
