Rick Catlin is a business owner and operator who understands firsthand the challenges we are facing in a tough economy. Real job growth can only be achieved by strengthening the private sector. As a state legislator, Rick Catlin will reform the current regulatory environment in North Carolina to make our state more competitive in attracting new jobs from other states.
As a county commissioner he has already started a work group of county and city regulators to find permitting efficiencies to relieve the costly delays on new and expanding business projects. He will work to continue lessening the tax burden small business owners face each day so more of their monies can be used to hire new employees and help put people back to work. Rick believes that the seven billion people outside of the USA are potential customers for our businesses. To that end he has brought his international business experience to expand a regional Foreign Trade Zone in southeastern North Carolina. In the general assembly he will take that business opportunity to the next level. Rick Catlin believes the best incentive to attract new jobs is a level playing field for all business and a state government that is focused on being a productive partner with private employers, not a counter-productive impediment to new job growth.
