U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) issued the following statement regarding the national unemployment figures released earlier today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics:
"Any news of job creation is welcome, and I hope we see further improvements in our economy in the months ahead. However, far too many remain out of work, underemployed, or have given up looking for employment. Our economy remains anemic and the policies coming out of Washington have failed to provide the stability and certainty our economy needs to truly flourish. Massive government spending and excessive regulations are constraining our nation's potential for real economic growth that will put millions of unemployed Americans back to work. Nevada has led the nation in unemployment for nearly three years. It's clear that the policies coming from Washington have not done enough to get our state and nation working again. That is why job creation is and continues to be my top priority, and I will continue fighting for pro-growth policies that will get Nevadans back to work," said Senator Dean Heller.
In September the National Unemployment rate dropped from 8.1 to 7.8 percent.
