Capito Condemns Killing of Americans in Libya

Statement

Date: Sept. 12, 2012

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., released the following statement condemning the killing of four Americans serving in Benghazi, Libya, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens:

"I am deeply saddened by the loss of four Americans in the brutal attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. I am profoundly grateful for their dedicated service to our country at home and abroad. Americans will not stand for acts of violence that threaten freedom abroad and claim innocent lives.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the Americans killed last night, and with the loved ones of so many American Foreign Service officers who serve our country abroad in often very dangerous circumstances."
