The 112th Congress has chosen confrontation over compromise, ignoring job creation, while wasting time on partisan messaging bills. Now, House Republicans have again chosen partisanship over the American people. They've decided to end this session, the earliest Congress has gone home to campaign in 50 years.
Instead of comprehensive jobs legislation, middle class tax cuts, a Farm Bill, or a long-term deficit reduction plan, Republicans have wasted time on message bills that do not strengthen the economy. Republicans continue to choose politics over policy.
I am just as frustrated with the partisanship and gridlock in DC as you are. And I believe we owe it to the American people to stay in DC until we get the job done. We must work together to find the common sense solutions I know exist so that we can get our economy back on track and our communities back to work.
