Supporting Virginia's and our nation's police officers comes naturally to me, because it runs deep in my blood.
Before I settled and made my home here in Virginia, my family had roots in New York City -- where members on both sides served with honor in the NYPD and FDNY.
That's why, as our campaign reaches the home stretch, I'm proud to announce that I earned the endorsement of Virginia's Police Benevolent Association (the PBA).
I will always stand up for law enforcement and support policies in Congress that help them do their job and provide for their families. That's been my record, both as a federal prosecutor and a mom who wants to ensure my children grow up in a safe community.
Unfortunately, Republican Frank Wolf and I don't see eye-to-eye on this issue.
In Congress, Wolf voted for large cuts to Justice Department funding, which includes support for many law enforcement programs -- like COPS (Community Oriented Police Services) funding.¹ This directly impacts our police and their ability to put enough officers on the street and keep our communities safe.
It's just wrong, and it's why I'm running for Congress: Because Frank Wolf is out of touch with Virginia families, and because the 10th Congressional District deserves better.
With just over one month left until Election Day, I need your help right now to bring badly needed change to Congress.
