Alexander, Frist Announce Support For Tennessee Transportation Projects
WASHINGTON - U.S. Senators Bill Frist (R-TN) and Lamar Alexander (R-TN) today announced that the Fiscal Year (FY) 2005 Omnibus Conference Report, which the Senate passed late Saturday, includes more than $43 million for specific Tennessee transportation projects. The conference report will now go to the President for his signature.
"A strong transportation system goes hand-in-hand with a strong economy," said Frist. "This bill tackles critical transportation challenges, and takes strides to improve Tennessee's highways and airports, while addressing the transit needs of communities throughout Tennessee. I'm pleased that these projects were included in the conference report."
"This bill funds crucial infrastructure projects across Tennessee," said Alexander. "It aims to improve public transportation, air travel and our roads. Senator Frist and I will continue working to bring Tennessee's share of transportation funding home."
