Today, congressional candidate and small business owner Chris Collins received the Guardian of Seniors' Rights award from the 60 Plus Association, a national non-partisan senior citizens group.
"I am honored to receive this award from the 60 Plus Association. This award is recognition that as a member of Congress I will work to protect seniors and fight to repeal Obamacare, which cuts over 700 billion dollars from Medicare and Medicare Advantage, impacting current recipients of the program," said Collins.
"As a grandfather of three, Chris Collins understands how critical it is that we protect and strengthen Social Security and Medicare for today's seniors, and preserve these vital programs for future generations," said Jim Martin, Chairman of the 60 Plus Association. "Most importantly, Chris Collins is a man of his word. While the Obama Admininstration denies it "cut' Medicare, even Nancy Pelosi said "we cut over half a trillion dollars from Medicare.' The difference is while Pelosi voted for the cuts, Chris Collins opposes the cuts to Medicare," continued Martin.
"Seniors deserve a member of Congress who will keep their promises to protect Medicare," said Collins. "Kathy Hochul broke her promise to seniors when she supported Obamacare, which effectively ends Medicare Advantage as we know it. I will protect Medicare for seniors and make sure we strengthen the program for future generations."
