From David's Desk: September Roundup

Statement

Date: Sept. 28, 2012

As we continue to move forward with Hurricane Isaac recovery, one thing on the minds of many is making sure our utility companies perform well. And when they don't meet our performance standards, we need to offer consumers choices to create accountability. Far too many citizens, businesses and critical services -- especially in southeast Louisiana -- were left without power for days in the aftermath of Isaac. I've been working on some common sense ways to add a little competition to the market place by pushing means to replace poorly-performing utilities by adding competition to the marketplace. Competitive pressure and an additional choice can make all the difference in the world.

Please continue reading below to learn more about some of the ways I've been working to bring Louisiana common-sense to Washington.

Sincerely,

David Vitter
United States Senator
