One year ago, we moved our nation in the direction of greater inclusion by ending "Don't Ask, Don't Tell'--a policy that prohibited openly gay Americans from serving in our military.
We took this important step forward because people like you stood together in the face of tough odds for what was right.
Now, we need to stand together once more.
I believe it's important to let you know, in no uncertain terms, where I stand on a proposed amendment to Minnesota's constitution that would limit the freedom to marry.
In my view, Minnesotans should be able to choose who they spend their life with free of government interference. That's why I'm voting no.
We've overcome tough odds in the past. If we stand together, we can do it again.
Let's make sure our state is a place where everybody counts and everybody matters. Join me and pledge to vote no.
