Congressman Mark S. Critz (PA-12) issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Labor announced today that private businesses added 103,000 jobs in the month of August and that the unemployment rate fell from 8.3% to 8.1%:
"Today's jobs report shows that we must immediately pass the Currency Reform for Fair Trade Act (H.R. 639), which ends currency manipulation by countries like China and helps to create over 2.25 million American jobs. We must continue to rebuild our manufacturing sector by working to increase U.S. exports through fair trade deals and policies that help American businesses "Make it in America.' Additionally, we must take advantage of our domestic natural resources and create millions of new energy jobs through the continued development of natural gas, coal, nuclear, and renewable energy resources."
